Design work has begun on the Eaton M45 supercharger inlet/outlet manifold ready for what will hopefully be made out of carbon fibre. I am using an Eaton M45 from a Mercedes which has both the inlet and outlet on the same plane. This is different to the BMW mini version which has the inlet on one end and the outlet on another.
I've designed manifold to be a sleek as possible and something that can be manufactured from carbon fibre. The inlet and outlet pipes are both 60mm ID and the wall thickness of the entire part is 1mm. According to my source within the F1 industry, 1mm wall thickness is pressure tested on their parts up to 10BAR. My supercharger will be running at approx 0.7BAR.
