After the success of milking my own PCB for the DIY exup eliminator I decided I needed a new CNC machine with a larger work area and more precision. This is a 3018 CNC purchased from Amazon. It has a 300x180mm work envelope hence being called 3018. I have added some home/limit switches to each axis using custom 3D printed brackets. The limit switches make it much easier to set the machine up after each power up and it prevents "crashes" by limiting travel. The switches are connected yet due to still waiting for the correct cables to arrive. Above is a quick test of engraving some carbon fibre. I plan to machine a switch panel out of carbon fibre and I wanted to see what it would look like if the switch icons were engraved. I added white paint to make them stand out and I'm very happy with the overall look.
